Community Benefit
Ohio hospitals provided $2.9 billion in benefit to their community above and beyond the health care services they provide to their patients.
OHA’s 2011 Community Benefit Report is a statewide snapshot of how Ohio hospitals invest in their communities: stimulating the economy and creating quality jobs, covering shortfalls in reimbursement for care provided to Medicaid, offering discounted and free care to low-income patients and sponsoring community activities focused on prevention and wellness. OHA Names New CEO
December 6, 2011:
Mike Abrams, Executive Vice President and CEO of the Iowa Medical Society, was announced as the Ohio Hospital Association’s next President and CEO. Abrams will begin his tenure in February, following the December 31 retirement of Jim Castle, OHA’s President and CEO for 23 years.
