Health Care Reform
In March 2010, President Obama signed into law the Patient Protection and Accountable Care Act and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act. Taken together, these laws represent the most significant reforms of America’s health care system in history. Below are resources to help hospitals, patients, and others understand the new laws.
OHA created the Task Force to advise and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees on issues and proposals associated with reform of the delivery and financing of health care services.

OHA Names New CEO
December 6, 2011:
Mike Abrams, Executive Vice President and CEO of the Iowa Medical Society, was announced as the Ohio Hospital Association’s next President and CEO. Abrams will begin his tenure in February, following the December 31 retirement of Jim Castle, OHA’s President and CEO for 23 years.
