Medical Malpractice

While a combination of factors including enactment of tort reform and enhanced patient safety initiatives have improved availability and affordability, liability insurance rates remain high for important medical specialties such as obstetrics, neurosurgery and emergency medicine. OHA continues to work with other parties to monitor and recommend initiatives that promote access by the public to medical care that is safe, affordable and effective.

OHA Names New CEO

December 6, 2011:

Mike Abrams, Executive Vice President and CEO of the Iowa Medical Society, was announced as the Ohio Hospital Association’s next President and CEO. Abrams will begin his tenure in February, following the December 31 retirement of Jim Castle, OHA’s President and CEO for 23 years.
