Fit-Friendly Hospitals
In 2008, nearly 60 Ohio hospitals and OHA were awarded the Fit-Friendly designation through the American Heart Association's Start! program.
To be recognized, companies must demonstrate their commitment to promoting exercise and good nutrition in the workplace. Several Ohio hospitals attained the highest "platinum" level status for their efforts, or received recognition for work to encourage good health in their communities. Two hospitals also received one of 22 national Community Innovation Awards.
The following hospitals received the Fit-Friendly designation in 2008. Designations are awarded twice a year and companies must renew on an annual basis.
