MedCentral Health System, Shelby
Hospital, is a non-profit, general acute care hospital that began
serving the Shelby Community in 1921. As a critical access hospital,
it also offers transitional care. Each year at Shelby Hospital about
1,400 patients are admitted, 175 babies are born and 142,000
procedures are done for our 13,200 outpatient visits. The active
medical staff has about 50 members in such specialties as family
medicine, internal medicine, orthopedics, OB/GYN, general surgery,
podiatry, radiology, anesthesiology, pathology, emergency medicine,
urology, pediatrics and hospitalists.
