Our appearance has changed much over the years, but the pride we take in patient care and community involvement continues to be the foundation of Affinity Medical Center, Massillon Campus.

The modern complex stands today on the site where Massillon Community Hospital opened its doors in 1910, a time when "medicine" meant "home remedies." As the first health care facility in western Stark County, we changed the medical history of our community forever.

Those original two buildings with 25 beds have long since given way to a 268-bed acute care hospital with state-of-the-art equipment and advanced technology. In addition to its acute care services, Affinity Medical Center also provides specialized emergency care, skilled nursing, physical rehabilitation, alcohol and chemical dependency treatment, progressive cardiac services and occupational health services, along with a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic services. We serve more than 100,000 area residents with high quality health care.

Affinity Medical Center draws strength from the community, those who use our services as well as dedicated auxilians and members of our board of directors. Over 400 of our neighbors -- adults and teens -- volunteer their efforts to the hospital in excess of 40,000 hours each year.

We touch the lives of others in many ways. As one of western Stark County's largest employers, we annually contribute approximately $40 million to the community through employee wages and benefits and the purchase of local goods and services. Our Employees' Civic Fund financially supports numerous local charities, and many of our employees take an active role in the community, volunteering their time and talents to various worthy causes.
