In 1958, the people of Pike County collectively brought a new organization into existence, giving it the mission of meeting their needs for health care services. They created Pike County's first and only community hospital, Pike County Hospital.

In the past 45 years, PCH has seen many changes in the field of healthcare. In 2000, construction and renovations were completed on the Phase II Development Project, which ultimately ushered in a new era for the Hospital.
