Continuous Service Readiness (CSR)
CSR is a joint effort of OHA and JCR, a subsidiary of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), to assist hospitals in attaining a level of continuous service readiness for accreditation surveys. The CSR program is a process of ongoing consultation and education designed to support health care organizations in their efforts to improve the quality of care delivered in their communities and meets JCAHO’s standards for accreditation. There are currently over 100 Ohio hospitals participating in the CSR. To find out more information about the introductory session please e-mail Dorothy Alridge, daldridge@ohanet.org.

OHA Insight
The Ohio Hospital Association in coordination with member hospitals have developed new web based software that allows hospitals to run customized and standard reports for Marketing, Physician Recruiting, Business Development and Benchmarking purposes.  OHA Insight was developed based upon Hospital input to give Hospitals access to crucial information regarding inpatient, outpatient and emergency room data – in total over 23 million patient records per year. Hospitals can now find out where patients are going for services and what opportunities exist for growth and improvement.   Dan Paoletti, danp@ohanet.org.

Group Unemployment Compensation Program
This program allows tax-exempt hospitals to self-insure unemployment claims rather than participate in the state-funded program. More than 150 participants save over $30 million annually.

Group Workers’ Compensation Program
This program allows smaller hospitals to come together as a group and obtain better workers’ compensation rates than they could obtain individually. There are 45 participants in the group and their rates have been reduced approximately 21 percent.

Law & Hospital Labor Contract Project
OHA, in partnership with the law firm Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue, provides members with up-to-date information about Ohio health care employment and labor law issues, including labor union activity and labor contract terms. An annual subscription fee gives hospitals access to a Web-based searchable bank of hospital collective bargaining agreements with current Ohio hospital labor contracts, an OHA Web site devoted to Ohio health care employment and labor law issues and activities, attendance at two OHA labor and employment issues workshops per year, and a discount on the participation fee for the OHA Salary Survey.

Medical Opportunities in Ohio (MOO)
OHA, along with other health care organizations, launched the MOO online tool to help Ohio hospitals recruit and retain physicians. There is no limit on the number of job postings an individual hospital can make. The system allows any physician to submit a resume, and participating hospitals can post physician position openings and view a list of third- and fourth-year residents, enabling hospitals to recruit physicians earlier.

Salary Survey
OHA annually conducts the only statewide survey of hospital and health system chief executives and over 100 executive and management positions. Results include data cut by hospital revenue, metropolitan area and number of beds. Administered by a national health care firm, the survey results are available only to OHA members that participate and cannot be purchased by non-participants.
