Clostridium difficile reporting

Mandatory monthly C. diff reporting ended with the close of December. The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) has issued a 2006 report. With monthly reporting ended, hospitals are required to report C. diff to the local board of health by the end of the next working day only if there is "an outbreak, unusual incidence or epidemic" of C. diff in the facility, according to 3701-03-05 of the Ohio Administrative Code.

The ODH report is expected to assist hospitals and nursing homes in determining when they have "an outbreak, unusual incidence or epidemic" of c. diff that requires a report.
