Charitable Organization
Regulations
Hospitals have recently been called to
action to justify their tax-exempt status from state and federal
policymakers, the public and others. Most recently, Ohio Attorney
General Jim Petro proposed new regulations governing charitable
organizations. The proposed rules
would impose substantial disclosure, governance and operational
requirements on all charitable organizations in Ohio, particularly
tax-exempt hospitals.
