Advocacy Alert • Monday, February 26, 2007ACTION NEEDED: Ask Congress to Help Stop Proposed Medicare and Medicaid Cuts! The Bush Administration has proposed significant payment reductions to hospitals under Medicare and Medicaid in its FY 2008 proposed federal budget. OHA is asking Ohio’s congressional delegation to sign onto “Dear Colleague” letters currently being circulated in the U.S. House and Senate opposing reductions to hospitals in the budget resolution. To help in this effort, please call your U.S. House members at 1-866-887-CARE and ask them to sign on to the “Neal/English” letter. U.S. Senators can be reached via the same phone number, and should be asked to sign on to the similar “Lincoln/Roberts” letter. Hospital advocates also can participate in the American Hospital Association’s March 6 Budget Advocacy Day in Washington, DC. For further information on both the letters and the March 6 Advocacy Day, please contact Jonathan Archey, OHA’s Federal Relations Manager, at jonathana@ohanet.org.
