Berger Gives Charity Care Above and Beyond
Like many Ohio hospitals, Berger Health System ensures care for low-income members of its community through a charity care program that well exceeds the responsibility that Ohio hospitals provide medically-necessary care free of charge to patients with incomes at or below the federal poverty line. The system’s sliding-scale discount applies to patients whose income falls anywhere from the federal poverty level up to 250 percent.
