TRICARE is the Department of Defense's health care program for members of the uniformed services, their families and survivors.

TRICARE also offers health care programs for retired service members, including TRICARE Pharmacy, TRICARE Dental (United Concordia), and TRICARE for life.

4/01/2008::  The Department of Defense (DoD) will transition the TRICARE outpatient hospital reimbursement system to one modeled on the Medicare Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System. A proposed rule was released today that  calls for comments by June 2. No effective date is indicated. TRICARE is not planning to use the Medicare Outpatient Code Editor (OCE) in its bill processing, nor will it adopt Medicare outpatient beneficiary cost share amounts.
