Programs that Change Lives
Ohio hospitals are receiving about $1.25
million in tobacco grants toward programs that will benefit uninsured
pregnant women and children and individuals suffering from chronic
obstructive pulmonary disease.

patients safe, but employees as well. The Ohio Hospital Safety Campaign,
sponsored by the Ohio Hospital Association (OHA), will honor 24 Ohio hospitals
for their successful hospital safety programs and superior employee safety

Ohio leads the nation with a new tool uniting the state’s health care
organizations in their efforts to eliminate medical errors and pump up patient
safety. A new statewide protocol for surgeries and other procedures—the first
such policy in the U.S.—offers specific verification for each step of the
surgical process to help ensure correct site, correct person and correct
