Hospitals to Celebrate 75 Health Care Heroes
Health Care Worker of the Year to be Named at June 9 Dinner

Ohio Hospital Employee Appreciation Day

Gov. Ted Strickland declared June 9 Ohio Hospital Appreciation Day saying, “I commend the 250,000 hospital workers in our state for their unending dedication to provide excellent health care around the clock. The commitment these employees have to their patients and communities is an inspiration to us all.”

WHY:              OHA is recognizing 75 hospital nominees for the Albert E. Dyckes Health Care Worker of the Year Award in addition to six other health care leadership award recipients (see lists online for a nominee or recipient in your area). Four finalists and one ultimate recipient of the Health Care Worker of the Year Award will be announced at the event. (www.ohanet.org/annualmeeting/awards/)

 

FEATURED   Kathleen and James Bond

SPEAKER      Kathleen and James Bond, of Shaker Heights, Ohio, share their story of Jim’s battle with multiple myeloma, an incurable blood cancer. Thanks to leading-edge research and a collaborative approach with medical professionals, Jim has managed to live a robust life, work full-time, mentor others with cancer, and support Kathleen in helping others fight cancer through her work as a volunteer for The American Cancer Society and a member of its national, state, and local Boards of Directors.
