Hospitals Saving Lives, Preventing Harm from Blood Thinners
The Ohio Patient Safety Institute (OPSI) and VHA, Inc. yesterday kicked off a collaborative project with 46 hospitals and health systems across Ohio to reduce life-threatening complications associated with anticoagulants – blood thinners – which many patients take to prevent blood clots following a stroke, heart attack or vascular surgery. See more

Hospitals Support Physician Medicaid Increase, Hospital Recalibration Delay

The Ohio Hospital Association (OHA) commends Gov. Ted Strickland’s decision to indefinitely delay the planned recalibration of Medicaid rates for hospitals and to provide physicians with their first Medicaid update in seven years, effective July 1, 2008. See more
