History
The
Ohio Society of Healthcare Administrative Professionals (OSHAP) became affiliated
as a society with the OHA in 1991. The group had, however, provided educational programs through OHA
for five years prior to formal affiliation.
OSHAP was originally founded as the Ohio
Society of Healthcare Executive Assistants (OSHEA). The society
felt that a name change was needed to keep up with the ever-changing
role within the healthcare community.
