EMPLOYEE BENEFITS SURVEY

The annual Tier 1 survey process is currently underway. It will capture design and cost-sharing elements on all major benefit programs—including time-off arrangements. Best of all, it'll only take 15 minutes or so to participate in the online process, yet data will be collected on more than 300 plan features.  The deadline is December 31, 2008.

Purpose
The Ohio Society of Hospital Human Resources Administrators is a professional society of hospital personnel executives organized under the auspices of the OHA.  OSHHRA is an affiliated society of OHA and the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration of the American Hospital Association.

Check out the OHA Labor Law and Contract Project, designed to provide hospitals with the most up-to-date information about Ohio health care employment and labor law issues, including labor union activity and labor contract terms.

Mission
The mission of OSHHRA is to promote the strategic development of effective human resources management in OHA health care organizations through leadership, education and
fellowship.

OSHHRA provides leadership in human resource policy and practice formulation and implementation.  It serves as an advisor to OHA, state government, and other local, state and national groups on Ohio health care human resources issues.  OSHHRA membership includes, but is not limited to, the chief human resource professionals at OHA member hospitals, and stresses individual professionalism and regional communication.

OSHHRA provides for development of members through high-quality regional educational programs, statewide conferences and information sharing.  OSHHRA encourages informal networking, member support and enjoyment to complement professional development.

OSHHRA maintains a close affiliation with ASHHRA.

Membership Eligibility
Individuals eligible for active membership are those active in the field of hospital human resources administration who are eligible for OHA personal membership, or are employees of OHA or an Ohio allied hospital association.  At least 50 percent of an eligible individual's job duties must be related to personnel administration.

Emeritus status is open to members upon retirement from active employment with an OHA organizational member institution and from the field represented by the society.  Emeritus members may not vote, hold office, or serve on a standing committee.
