Purpose & Objectives
The purpose of this society shall
be to provide a forum for exchange of information among Ohio occupational
health professionals.
The
objectives of this society shall be to provide a medium for facilitating
partnerships among providers, employers, government, and vendors in an
effort to reduce workers' compensation and health care costs.

- Active Individual Member - A professional employed by a hospital-based or free-standing
occupational health program providing injury care and a variety of
occupational health services to varied customers.
- Associate Individual Member - Individuals not employed by a hospital-based or
free-standing occupational health program providing injury care and a variety of
occupational health services to varied customers.
- Active Institutional Member - Represented by a maximum of three (3) professional employed by a
hospital-based or free-standing occupational health program providing
injury care and a variety of occupational health services to varied
customers.
- Associate Institutional Member - Represented by a maximum of three (3) individuals not employed by a
hospital-based or free-standing occupational health program providing
injury care and a variety of occupational health services to varied
customers.
Activities and Benefits
- Active Membership
- One
vote per professional up to three votes.
- To
attend all regular and special membership meetings of SOOHP and
participate in discussion.
- To
attend all meetings of the board.
- To
be a candidate of elective office and/or any position in accordance
with the provisions of the bylaws.
- To
utilize all services provided by SOOHP and to participate in all
social, educational and cultural activities.
Activities and Benefits
- Keep
up-to-date on legislative changes affecting workers compensation
reform through access to the society's legislative liaison.
- Learn
about how other occupational health providers are handling the demand
for managed care.
- Learn
how other occupational health providers handle operational issues such
as measuring customer service, utilizing various software packages,
developing clinical pathways and measuring outcomes, re-engineering
processes for performance improvement or continuous quality
improvement.
- Actively
participate in society development and activities on a regional and
statewide basis.
- Receive
annual membership directory for OHA and the society.
